(1) Improve soil structure
The fulvic acid in potassium fulvate from mineral sources contains a large number of functional groups. These functional groups interact with soil particles, enabling the soil to form aggregates of varying sizes and stable structures. After being applied to the soil, it acts like a "nutrient storage bank", with its surface activity capable of adsorbing, exchanging and complexing the applied fertilizers, while simultaneously transforming the solidified nutrients in the soil, allowing crops to absorb and utilize them. It has greatly improved the utilization rate of soil nutrients.
(2) Improve the utilization rate of fertilizers
Fulvic acid performs exceptionally well in enhancing the efficiency of fertilizers. It can act as a slow-release agent for nitrogen fertilizers, allowing them to be released slowly and prolonging their effectiveness. It is an activator of phosphate fertilizer, capable of converting insoluble phosphorus in the soil into a form that can be absorbed by crops. As a protective agent for potassium fertilizer, it promotes the release of insoluble potassium, reduces the fixation of potassium fertilizer, and increases the content of water-soluble potassium in the soil.
In addition, it also serves as a chelating agent for trace element fertilizers, enabling trace elements to be better absorbed by crops, reducing the waste of fertilizers and environmental pollution.
(3) Enhance crop resistance and improve quality
1. Enhance resilience:
Fulvic acid from mineral sources can reduce the opening intensity of stomata on plant leaves, lower leaf transpiration, help crops retain water in arid environments, and enhance their drought resistance.
It is also an amphoteric colloid with high surface activity, which can inhibit fungi, enhance the cold resistance of crops, prevent diseases such as rot and root rot, and reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases.
2. Promote crop growth:
After the application of potassium fulvate, the root system of the crops will become more developed and the number of secondary roots will increase.
It can also promote the activities of enzymes in the soil and those of the plants themselves, with the increase in enzyme activity ranging from 24.4% to 175.6%.
Mixing seeds with potassium fulvate can increase the germination rate of crops. For instance, the germination rate of wheat can be relatively raised by 10% to 30%, and the seedlings can emerge 1 to 3 days earlier.
Meanwhile, it can promote the respiration of crops, increase the number and length of root systems, and improve the tillering rate of crops.
3. Improve crop quality:
Potassium fulvate from mineral sources can promote the activity of enzymes, accelerate the transport of various metabolic products to fruits and seeds, make fruits plump and thick, and improve the quality of seeds.
Spraying it on the surface of the fruit can quickly change its color and enhance its taste. Moreover, foliar spraying of potassium fulvate from mineral sources can also reduce pesticide residues and improve the utilization rate of pesticides.
